May 01 2014 05:58 PM | Adam in Photo Contests & Events
We are happy to announce the winners of our official March, 2014 "Sports" photo contest:
In first place was forum member Russ with "Rugby in the wet". Click here to comment and view a larger version of the photo. He will be receiving a $50 gift card prize, courtesy of B&H Photo.
In second place was forum member one42chrisp with "The Lay-up", shot with a Nikon D4.
And our honorable mention was "Amazed by the Amazing" by forum member revans, taken with a D300. Well done guys!
We'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate our winners once more!
Our April "Beautiful Blur" photo contest has just closed to new submissions. You can rate and comment on photos in the contest gallery for the next two weeks, and then the finalists will be announced and voting will begin.
Also, don't miss this month's photo contest: "Parks". Good luck!

Thanks Adam, as a sports photo guy I had a hard time voting, and I sure wanted to vote for more than just one!
Those wet days make great photos, but my gumboots (wellies in UK, not sure what in US) had a couple of cm of water in them at the end of the game!
Congratulations, Russ. Great image.
All these images sort of make me think maybe it would be fun to try shooting sports.
The winners certainly show a lot of emotion and the difficulty of each sport.
You got my vote Russ, congrats to all the winners!
Thanks everyone. Thankfully those conditions don't happen too often!
Nicole - give it a go, if you like sport and photography it's fun. You odn't have to worry too much about your framing and rule of thirds stuff etc., but it does test your reactions.
Nice job Russ!
Thanks Jerry
