A two week backpacking trip in March 2012 brought me to Skaftafell National Park, Iceland where this myriad of natural wonders manifested for those who venture deep into the night. This lenticular cloud sat atop the moonlit peaks protruding from Vatnajokull glacier for nearly 12 hours as the aurora borealis and milky way slowly swept across the night sky.
