I've yet to get out and about with the new camera but looking forward to gaining some experience and taking some great pictures.

I've yet to get out and about with the new camera but looking forward to gaining some experience and taking some great pictures.
Been out with the camenra over the weekend and got some good shots used a mixture of 3 lenses, my 18-55, 50mm 1.8 and my new 70-300mm VR. All performed reallt well. The camera was great to handle, t got a little heavey to carry around with the 70-300 on it but the shots I got were worth it.
Got mine d7100 last month. Thought it was a great choice. Shoots about 2-3k pictures so far with it. I'm a newbie after all. Never got proper education in photography, just learning from experience and other people.
You have some great lense there. I'm looking into 85mm f/1.4 next. Added you as contact/friend.
I upgraded from D40 to D7100 last week. I have a busy couple of weeks ahead of me, which means I won't be able to find time to start learning how to use the camera properly. I have purchased two kindle books: Nikon D7100 for Dummies (seems right up my street) and Nikon D7100 From Snapshots to Great Shots by John Batdorff. I love taking photographs no matter whether it is by phone, small hand held or whatever and many, many years ago I used to develop and print black and white photos as a hobby. However, I hate to admit it, but I have been a lazy photographer where the D40 was concerned (had it for 5 years) and the majority of my shots were taken on automatic. Plan is to learn how to use the D7100 properly and with manual settings for exposure etc. So a real novice! Looking at photos from iNyoni and well impressed. Should be an interesting journey and looking forward to learning from the contributions of others.
Hopefully heading out with the 7100 this weekend however weather is reported to be very very wet. Should be interesting.

Nikon D710002 October 2013
Had my D7100 a year (since they were released) now and I think it's great! Use my D7000 as back up. I'm into nature from landscapes to macro (and master of none), learning all the time. Started photography when I was in Singapore/Malaya in the 60s.
The beauty of the D7100 is its ease of use and versatility. Nice size too fits great to the hand. The one third crop mode I love but you'll find this out of course.
Video is great but is let down by the audio. It will pick up the motor noise and your breathing! (All Dslrs have this problem. Am working on it though but I can fix it in Pinnacle Studio.
Anyway look forward to reading how you progress.
