The Day before Christmas Eve

Posted by JohnRNixon, 07 January 2017 · 733 views

I was free to take a walk in to town to do some last minute shopping and the P7800 slipped snugly inside my wet weather coat.
I was not inspired!
The freshly built bus station caught my eye as the sky lightened. I was using the RAW file setting for the first time, having used the camera as a jpeg holiday snap producer earlier in the month over in Florida.
Some adjustments have been made to these images in NX2, but not much. :)
I reduce my 4x3 images to 1024x 768 and a jpeg compression to give me a file size of between 150kb and 200kb for uploading.
I am finding the 'horizontal' indicator in the viewfinder very informative. I have a tendency to lean to the right!

Thanks for sharing these, John! It's fun to get a window into your part of the world. That colorful carnival sure stands out against the grey weather and neutral-colored buildings.

Thanks. I tried the Velvia/Vivid settings on the shots that had any semblance of colour in them! I particularly liked the way that the Christmas fair rides leapt out of the frame! That pic was taken out of a first floor window that happened to be open in the Marks and Spencer store! The articulated screen on the P7800 is great for stuff like that.
