My Pond

Posted by Ignacior, 13 October 2013 · 643 views

My Pond Well not really mine, but its right behind my place and I rarely see ppl there. So I just call it mine. Usually its packed with Ducks and egret's. Today not so much. Its ok, its been raining last couple of days so it was nice to get out and take a walk in the sun.

Creepy bird.

Actually not that creepy. He just looks so angry. Dude, your a bird! if it sucks where you are, fly somewhere else.

He actually did right after i got the pic.

i wonder how long the shopping cart has been there? I used to skip school and come to this pond when i was in high school and im pretty sure it was there then. If I'm right then its at least 20...

I dont know what it is...

I dont know what it is... Its some creative type hump i cant seem to get over. Me and low light shooting just don't mix. This shot i thought would be nice when i took it, now it just seems boring to me. ugh, I'll just keep trying. I plan on doing a lot of shooting tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

The Walkway.

The Walkway. I've probably walked on this thing 100 times. Its one of my favorite spots to hike with my pup. This was the first pic i took of it. I just find it interesting that they built it here. Everywhere else its just trails but for some reason they put a walkway here. I'm sure they actually had a reason, I just don't know what it is. Or maybe they built it there...

He spotted the ocean...

One very small upside to this whole government shut down is that there's no park rangers to mess with dog owners. I've tried coming to this same beach with my dog and been told to leave cause there is no dogs allowed. Not even on leash. So i decided to be a rebel while they aren't working and let him run freely without the leash.

That's just how we roll...

Shooting on rainy days.

I have a question, Although San Diego doesnt get much rain, it is starting towards that time of year when we get our little bit of moisture. Anyone got any tips on shoooting when its raining? maybe settings and Dry gear? Whats the best way to keep my camera dry? Any tips will help as I've never shot in the rain at all. I started taking photos as a hobby a...

Max

Max My partner in photo, I realized I haven't posted a good pic of him yet. Hes a Blue heeler. Super smart, I've got him to the point where he knows once my camera is out of the bag, he follows quietly so not to spook anything. Loves being in the water but wont follow anyone in. He goes when hes good and ready.

Under the Highways.

When i walk my dog out of the house, I either go west or east. The larger, taller and nicer overpass is to the east and leads to Otay Lake. When im in that area i know i don't belong (there's no good Mexican food). The other is interstate 5 to the west. I'm in the middle. The nicer one runs to an upscale city. The other is self explanatory. Graffiti asi...

Digital Calamities!

Posted by Ignacior, 07 October 2013 · 591 views

Digital Calamities! The pic i attached is nowhere near what i would call good, but it was his fist introduction to cactus. You can see how excited he is to make its aquaintance.

How much should i be worried that my favorite shots are usually not planned? All my favorites are taken by "accident". I may take one too many, or it was a shot that at the time i didnt feel I had t...

Inappropriate?

Posted by Ignacior, 05 October 2013 · 711 views

Inappropriate? If you look closely you'll figure whats going on. These two flew right by me, so i followed. The question that popped into my head while i stood there and watched was, how long can a guy take pics and stare at two dragon flies getting it on before it gets creepy?

Butterflies

I seen to have a strange connection with them, I can walk right up to them and have them hang around for a awhile. The pics ive added to this i was able to get right up close to them. I used a Nikkor 60mm and they just sat there and stared at me while i took pics. ( sad to say they should have probably been better). Doesnt seem to matter where I am either...

Southern California

Southern California The canyon i work by has these signs posted everywhere, All my co-workers have had an encounter. Not me, i usually run into them elsewhere, but never at work. What do ppl use for taking pics of venomous snakes? Obviously dont want to get too close.

First time for everything.

First time for everything. I've never done anything remotely like this, but I figure why not share. I make no claims to the quality of work, all i say is, i love walking out into the woods/ mountains with my dog and my camera.
