Love this lens! The Nikon 1.8 G fx primes (28, 50, 85) all offers great price/performance ratio. It was to me the reason to go fullframe from another aps-c brand to Nikon.

Build quality has a cheap feel to it, but its not bad and the positive side to that is the weight. Combined with the D600 its a very light fullframe package. Image is superb, contrasty and sharp. Bokeh is nice but not superb. The very close mfd makes it a very creative lens.

I mainly use it for family documentary type of photos. Love to use it with kids, where the composition can make you feel "right there" with the kids in action, in their world. Its now my standard FL.

There has been complaints about the curvature on this lens when used to shoot landscapes. So buyers that want a solid landscape/architecture lens should read up the reviews and look for examples before they buy imho. For me, its no problem.

One of the sharpest lenses I own. Highly recommended!

Sharp and fast lens, but build quality could be better - fells kinda cheap, especially using focus ring, but on the contrary it's light.
