I got a new project today.  I received a Richoflex Vll. It is in dire need of a good cleaning . The focus works but is very stiff.  every thing seems to work, but I think taking it apart and clean and relube is probably in order.  Another chance to learn something new. I have 3 rolls of 120 film just waiting. They are sitting next to a borrowed Yashica matt.

Is that one of those strange contraptions with the open synchronizing gears on front? If so, make very sure that you mark everything carefully at disassembly as you sometimes need a collimator to set the lenses from scratch. Medium formar TLRs are usually nice toys, even if there are some models to keep well away from. None of those are Japanese, though.

Yes it has the gears on the outside of the lenses. I have the outside and mirror cleaned. It appear that the taking lens is not focusing. it turns when either lens is turned but it does not seem to change focus when looking thru it and rotating the lens. I found that even tho it has no B mode if I hold the shutter release just right it will hold the shutter open so I can look thru it.

I have already started cleaning, but I do plan on photo's as I go along. I will post as I go along. hopefully I only need to open the lenses to find out why one is not focusing. I assume something is broken in side of it. I am hoping not. will probably be this weekend before I get started for earnest.
