The text is in swedish, but the navigation and pictures work anyway.

http://petersundstedt.com/

The oldest parts of the site is from 2003 and the pictures go up to the autumn of 2010. I have been meaning to modernize the look of it and add more content, but whenever I sit down to produce some code I find a picture to tweak or something else more fun to do.

Most pictures are purely digital, with one exception: http://petersundsted..._dia/index.html is a collection of Fuji RDP slides exposed at 80 ISO and scanned on a Coolscan 4000.

http://petersundsted...2007/index.html is a study of an old charter steamer. She was built in 1873 as a small passenger and freight ship, but was converted for pulling timber in 1908. She had that duty until 1957 when she was sold as a pleasure craft. She was restored to original specifications in 1990 and is available for charter in lake Revsund in the north of Sweden.

In 2010 I made an art project: 7 pictures every week, a new subject each week for as long as I could. The project held for 35 weeks, but in the 36th the pictures I made were not up to scratch and I didn't have time to redo them in the time remaining. The pictures are available starting at http://petersundsted...010/index.html

The texts are in swedish, but  Google translate might give an idea of what I'm saying about the pictures and the themes. http://translate.goo....html&sandbox=1

/Peter

Sorry for not responding before now, but just attempted to look at your images. For some reason there is a problem loading, have you other links I could try?

I have not looked at all your images, but was really impressed with your winter shots, cracking photos. I also like your idea of Project 52, such diverse images and what a great idea, well done. The one thing that your photograph galleries reminds me of, is that you don't need words to really appreciate the art of photography, the image speaks for itself. Thank you so much for sharing this we me and the rest of the Forum.

Thanks for the positive comments. I quite understand that you didn't look at everything on the site, I think there are a bit over 800 photos.

Very nice images..for me the site is too cluttered, I like the clean minimal look, but, hey that's just me!

My site will be down for maintenance for a day or two, a terminally ill main hard drive and a noisy fan to fix and when I change the system drive I might as well upgrade the OS...

Site's more or less up again, the blogs lost all formatting in the transfer, but the texts are there... I have started to translate some parts of the site and modernize the graphic profile, but it will take some time. The legacy parts will be the same static, straight html but new content will move to some kind of a CRM solution. I won't go live until I have the whole legacy site finished.

Hi Peter, was wondering what CRM you are looking for as I am currently also looking for one. Would the CRM cover both pages as well as photos?

I am looking for a good solution for a photo gallery/stream and have been recently investigating in jAlbum (jAlbum - Free Photo Gallery Website Software) to run on a Mac OSX server - did you consider that one? That would provide the web gallery and pages been made available through the build-in Wiki of the OSX.

Does somebody else use some packages for their website?

I'm leaning towards joomla with the Ignite gallery extension, but extending the built-in wiki tool bears investigating. Drupal with it's Dreamweaver-tweakable templates might suit my way of thinking best, as it probably gives the most flexibility but getting the most out of it is daunting.

The new site is starting to take shape and I am slowly coming to terms with how Joomla works. I am definitely not satisfied with the graphical expression on the site yet, but it is definitely cleaner than the grey on grey I used in the handcoded version of the site.

I don't have much content up yet, but I will translate and expand some of my better articles on the old, Swedish site.

Peter, I just viewed some of your portfolio.  I really like your macros of everyday items, makes one stop and think.  The winter scenes are great, makes me miss the snow I lived in while in Colorado.  Is the Piton your ride?  Nice.

Thanks for the feedback, Dean.

The Piton is my main roadbike, even if it does not look quite like that anymore. I never liked the STI shifters or the ergobend handlebar, so when my brother turned 40 I used most of the parts from the Piton to build him a light tourer on a Nishiki frame and got a compact Deda bar and full Chorus for the Piton instead.

I had done a bit less than 200 km after the refurb when I took this photo.

I have started redoing the galleries with Ignite after tweaking the template a bit. It is a great advantage to use templates that can be changed after adding content instead of having to recode when changing the layout...

Hi, Peter.
The website's looking good - some amazing photographs.
How are you getting on with the security of Joomla?

I tried building a website with this program and found it very confusing.  I threw in the towel when some Joker started systematically downloading all my images.  (I had some script to notify me by email if somebody right clicked and downloaded any images).

I now use Wordpress, purely for the visitors who use 'phones.

If you put this script in the header of the pages of your site, the right click function will be disabled.

<script language=JavaScript> var message="Function Disabled!"; function clickIE4(){ if (event.button==2){ alert(message); return false; } } function clickNS4(e){ if (document.layers||document.getElementById&&!document.all){ if (e.which==2||e.which==3){ alert(message); return false; } } } if (document.layers){ document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN); document.onmousedown=clickNS4; } else if (document.all&&!document.getElementById){ document.onmousedown=clickIE4; } document.oncontextmenu=new Function("alert(message);return false") </script>

Hope this helps and good luck for the future.

Jeff.

Joomla isn't the most intuitive CRM solution I have seen, but when the backend is in place things work better than most as the frontend is very customizable without diving into the backend variables.

The problem I have with disabling right-click is that there are quite a lot of legitimate functions that use the right click. I have my photos up websized and hope for the best. None of my saleable work is up anywhere on the 'net as far as I know.

Thank you for the comments. I try to vary what I showcase both on my own site and here on the forums.
